ASME B31Q Technical Committee – 2nd Quarter Meeting in Portland, Oregon 

The ASME B31Q Technical Committee met in Portland, OR, on June 12th and 13th to continue its effort to expand and revise the current ASME B31Q Pipeline Personnel Qualification task standards with additional technical and safety information.   Specifically, the guidance information for each task is being proposed for expansion to imbed steps to help mitigate the possible occurrence of task specific Abnormal Operating Conditions (AOCs). These revisions are targeted to be a part of the next B31Q update which will be published in December 2013.

The ASME B31Q Technical Committee is currently comprised of 29 voting members and 6 contributing members from various Operators, Service Providers and Industry/Regulatory representatives. Geoff Isbell, ENERGY worldnet, Inc. Chief Operating Officer, participates as a contributing member and as a project manager for numerous task revisions.

The next ASME B31Q Technical Committee meeting will be held in Norfolk, VA, on September 19th-20th concurrent with the ASME Code Week event.

Caveman Crawl

EWN’s Mayra Lujan and Michelle Chase participated in the 2012 Caveman Crawl 5K on Saturday, June 16, 2012.

This 3.1 mile running adventure contained more than 20 challenging obstacles including a 500′ extreme water slide, mud pits and steep hill climbing. The Caveman Crawl is a charitable event in Bridgeport, Texas. Proceeds from this event went to the Bridgeport Volunteer Fire department and to help build the Bridgeport OHV Park – Biking and Hiking Trails to attract outdoor enthusiast.
