Don Taylor Joins EWN as Business Application Developer

MEET DON TAYLOR:   Don joined the ENERGY worldnet team on April 1, 2011 as our new Business Application Developer, but he is no stranger to EWN or the PRO II OQ System. Prior to becoming a full time employee, Don was actively engaged as an independent contractor with EWN for the past two and half years.   Don has also worked with EWN’s IT Director, Jose Martinez, in various projects since the early 90′s.  Don has been involved in web development for the past 20 years. He received his Bachelors of Science in Information Systems from the University of Texas in Arlington in 2002, and he served in the United States Navy from 1983 to 1987.

Don’s first graphic web page was GTE.net and he said it was, “16 colors and 640×480 pixels, now we are at 1600×1200 pixels and 32bit true colors.”  For most of us that may not mean anything, so Don went on to say, “…so that is a totally complete shift.  It is still about the content, but now we have a prettier way of delivering it.”  (Author’s comment: Was it the glazed look in my eyes that prompted the additional layman’s explanation? I don’t know, but thanks Don for making technology look easy!)

Don has been married for 26 years and has 3 children and 1 grandchild.  To offset all the time he spends at the computer screen, Don routinely trains and competes in triatholons and marathons, and he enjoys motorcycling and flying.
